Who
we are
M�decins
du Monde UK is a charity established to relieve need among people
who are victims of poverty, famine, disease, natural and man
made disasters, and wars irrespective of race, religion, ideology
or politics.
M�decins du Monde UK has been registered as a charity in England
and Wales since January 1998 (registered charity 1067406).
M�decins du Monde's links with the UK go back many years.
A number of British field volunteers have taken part in some
of the overseas projects of M�decins du Monde. In addition,
many of M�decins du Monde's current volunteers have studied
in the UK or former volunteers now live in Britain. M�decins
du Monde's sister organisation in the United States, Doctors
of the World USA, had also established many contacts and friends
in the UK over the years. It was to build on these links, to
enhance the pool of qualified, committed volunteers for overseas
projects and to contribute to the world-wide work of M�decins
du Monde, that it was decided to establish M�decins du Monde
UK.
